Land Management Training Project

The Challenge: How to help the people who work in the National Park on land management issues (e.g. farming, forestry and estate management) do what they do, but better.

The Response: Provide a special training programme so that the people who work on the land in the National Park get access to training that is hard to find elsewhere due to remote access or the difficulties of travel.  The cost of the training is subsidised, giving the people who live in the Park an advantage over the people who don't.

The Land Based Business Training project which has been in existence since 2004, offers training to the land based business sector in the Cairngorms National Park. The project supports land based businesses to grow and operate more sustainably and enable them to contribute more effectively to the delivery of the statutory aims of the National Park.

Training is currently available for just about any business related subject that supports land based businesses

Together these projects have invested over £1 million in training in the Cairngorms National Park resulting in increased skill levels in businesses. Many small businesses have increased their skills base through these projects to enable them to diversify their business.
